Millions of people around the world live with diabetes or know someone living with diabetes. The majority have type 2 diabetes, but an important minority have type 1 diabetes (~5%).  Contrary to popular belief, type 1 diabetes is not a childhood disease.  It occurs at every age, in people of every race, and of every shape and size. In fact, there are more adults who have type 1 diabetes than children, although it was previously known as juvenile diabetes.  For people with diabetes, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) occurs when there's too much insulin and not enough sugar (glucose) in the blood. Hypoglycemia is defined as blood sugar below 70 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL), or 3.9 millimoles per liter (mmol/L). Several factors can cause hypoglycemia in people with diabetes, including taking too much insulin or other diabetes medications, skipping a meal, or exercising harder than usual. I have realized that challenges come to you when you are at the climax of a really great situation. It brings you down to a point where you feel it's time to give up and leave. The point where everything becomes so pointless. You cry but no tears are shed because you can't let the world see what life has been like to you. You have to be strong, you have to keep smiling because it reassures those around you that you are doing fine. Little do they know what is going on in your head. They can't decipher the thoughts going round in your mind, and even if they did, none can help you. But in the end you have to rise up from the ashes like a phoenix does and fly high. Be the eagle you are meant to be. Be the great person you dream of. That is the point when you put all behind and walk on. Pick yourself up. Put the pieces together and stitch your wounds because no one is going to understand you. No one will ever feel what you feel however much you try to explain to them. But...
